I just HATE when gurus make promises, and then don’t deliver.
You gotta make the steak sizzle in a pan (so to speak), if you wanna attract strangers to your product. You only retain customers, though, when you actually leave them with a good taste in their mouth.
What does steak have to do with marketing?
Who knows… I’m a vegetarian, anyways.
I think my point is that there are dangerous tricks that you can apply to your landing pages, that must be handled with care. You will get incredible opt-in rates with this style of squeeze page, but what you do after that is equally crucial.
What’s a Landing Page, and why is 55.6% a glass half full?
A landing page is a webpage that is designed to accomplish a single goal. Some of these pages are specialized to create sales, but in this case, we’re talking about email landing pages (also known as squeeze pages).
In the Internet Marketing space, the industry average is around 35% on squeeze pages. Most newbies don’t even come close to that number. They don’t know the tricks. I do.
I have this thing HACKED. And I’m ready to share it with my tribe.
Les go!
What makes a good landing page?
There are a few tricks to creating a good page, here are the main ones:
- simplicity
- curiosity
- promise
Here’s my landing page that converts at 55.6%
Breaking it down…
1) Simplicity
Your landing page should have less than 50 words of text. In fact, it’s almost always better to error on the side of “less is more.”
One main headline (big text) w/ an opt-in form (middle)
At this point, you really want things to be as clear and simple as possible. All guru testing shows that SIMPLE is a crucial element of a successful lander.
2) Curiosity
This landing page tempts visitors with a weird “two-step formula.”
What 2 steps? Why are they weird?
Curiosity is a hell of a drug. It’s human nature. In psychology this is called an open loop.
An open loop occurs when someone is given incomplete information. They want to fill in the blanks, and after all, it only takes a second to fill in the email, and get the answers.
are you curious?
The landing page is here – be my guest!
3) Promise
The last CRUCIAL element is the promise. Here’s where it gets a bit dicey. You want visitors to believe that they will get value after they opt-in. That’s the steak sizzle. That parts easy. The hard part is actually delivering on that promise.
In this squeeze page, the promise is $146.72 in 12 hours. And with the value given after opt-in, that promise is entirely attainable. So we’re good.
The problems occur when you promise 6 figure bank accounts in the next 20 minutes, and then dump low-grade spam after they impart their email.
Sure, you might make a sale or two while the steak’s still sizzling. But unless you provide your subs with actual value that delivers, they won’t be ordering again. That’s a problem.
How to create a landing page that converts at 55.6%
This is not meant to be a bragging post, but my conversion rate is ridiculous.
Most are happy with 30% opt-ins … but you can do better.
In fact, you can probably do better than the industry average in the next 10 mins.
It’s not hard, if you use the right tool.
I’m gonna let you in on a little secret here.
The tool I use does 95% of the work for me.
It’s practically all DONE-FOR-YOU but leaves a little flexibility to make the page unique to your offer. Perfect!!
This secret sauce is a WordPress Plugin called WP Profit Builder
The concept of this plugin is simple, it starts you off with a bunch of templates that are proven winners. They’re used by some of the top gurus in the game, and are cloned, so that you can install one of these landers in the next 60 seconds.
Once you install a template, you just need to tweak the text to be relevant to your offer.
Sounds easy enough?
Adjust the text, and you’ll have your very own 55.6% landing page in the next 15 minutes.
That is… If you include the three elements discussed above.
- Simplicity
- Curiosity
- Promise
Add those techniques into your new fresh headline, and you can quite easily create your own high converting landing page in the next few minutes.
Wanna see some of your templates?
Here, lemme show ya some of the cool stuff you can do with Profit Builder.
Ex. 1 – Simple Squeeze Page
Ex. 2 – Video Sales Pages
The screenshot cuts off some of the cool parts of this second example. This one’s called Sean’s MILLION DOLLAR Sales Page.
Know why he calls it that?
It’s the exact theme he uses to sell WP Profit Builder, and made over $1 million with it.
Pretty cool, huh?
Ok, let’s move on!
Ex. 3 – The template for my 55.6% landing page
You’ll notice I changed a few things here. I just adjusted the text to be relevant to my offer. But the original squeeze page covers all three CRUCIAL components. It has: simplicity, curiosity and promise. All packed into one conveniently sized webpage.
