Why blog?
The easiest way to make passive income is to grow an audience.
You have many options for this:
- YouTube videos
- Social media
- Forums
The easiest, and perhaps the most common way is to create a blog.
Even if it doesn’t end up being a $10,000 per month business, building a blog will teach you a lot about the internet.
There’s this whole idea that if I create it, they will come.
That’s not how it works.
Once you create a blog, you must find an audience.
Instead of watching late night episodes of Breaking Bad, you must take the first step into becoming an online entrepreneur. And that’s creating a website from scratch.
I’ve been marketing 8 years now, and I can’t think of a single person that’s successful online and doesn’t have a website.
It is a must. And probably should be your first step (before anything else).
Watch the tutorial:
You’ll learn:
- An easy “start up” guide to blogging.
- How to look professional
- What modifications you NEED to make
- How to COPY someone else (ethically)
I even go through some great traffic generation strategies.
One common MISTAKE is that people think a free blog is fine.
The reason why a free website is a bad idea is because you can’t make money from it.
Look at the terms of service for most free website platforms, they make it clear that you are not allowed to use your own advertising or make any money commercially.
What’s even worse? They put ads on your site, and keep the money for themselves.
Get your own hosting for $5/month through HostGator.com.
Use the coupon code “get25offyourbill” to take 25% off your order.
Now there’s no excuses. You can have a cheap blog up and running in the next 15 minutes.
And I guide you through the entire process in the video above.
Which blog platform is the best?
You hear a lot of people talk about Wix.com
The thing is, Wix is only good as a free solution. Which you should absolutely avoid.
You’re better option is wordpress.org.
But don’t get confused with WordPress.com. Even though it’s the same company, those are two entirely different solutions.
The .com version is for a free site, while the .org version is the one you want.
But, you don’t need to get it from wordpress.org.
You’re much better off installing directly inside your HostGator control panel.
I show you how to do that in this video.
How Much Money Can I Expect to Make?
Depends on how dedicated you are.
This blog you are reading right now makes a couple hundred dollars a month.
Not that much.
Although I have other businesses where I focus a lot more of my time.
For example, my YouTube channel makes $2,000 per month.
And my list building through Aweber makes around $5,000-$8,000 per month.
If I was determined to make money blogging, I would put a lot more effort into this site.
Another thing to consider is how you monetize your site.
I don’t have many affiliate links on this site at all. It’s not my goal to make money from people from this blog. Although an occasional sale is a nice bonus, I created this because I enjoy it.
There are a bunch of bloggers that make boatloads of money.
Look at Matthew Woodward or John Chow.
Those guys make over six and seven figures. Directly from blogging.
But they treat their blog like a business.
What you need to decide is whether your blog is going to be a business or a hobby.
And there’s no wrong answer to that decision.
A hobby blog can be a lot of fun. It just depends what you want to get out of it.
Whatever you do, start it today.
Watch the video above, and you’ll be able to rock in 20 minutes from now.
As always, thanks for reading!
