We’ve all heard about FaceBook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, etc.
And yeah, we’ve heard about Tumblr, too.
But did you know it can:
- Rank your sites on Google #1
- Explode traffic on your site(s)
This could be the most important video you ever watch:
Pretty simple, right?
Don’t let the simplicity underestimate the POWER.
Tumblr is the best social network for SEO because of the community culture.
More than anywhere else, Tumblr users SHARE stuff.
On the Tumblr space, this is known as “re-blogging,” and insanely popular.
The right content can easily go viral.
But here’s the kicker…
Not all genres do well on Tumblr.
Anything social has a good shot.
Some examples of these social niches:
- gun control
- religion
- marijuana
- cool gadgets
- game of thrones
- athiesm
- soccer
- hobbies
These are all topics that people love to talk about it. This stuff gets shared.
Every time a Tumblr post goes viral (or re-blogged), it gains a bunch of traffic and backlinks.
With the right strategy, you can in-turn, get boat loads of traffic to your site.
How it Works:
Step 1: Set Up an Account on Tumblr.com
Pick an account name that’s niche-related and share-worthy.
For example, in the cannabis niche, you could create a profile called “Cannabis Love” or “Stoner Buddy”
Or, for cool gadgets, you could call yourself “The Cool Gadget Dude”
Whatever. As long as it’s on topic, and adds a little personality.
Step 2: Reblog Cool Stuff
Why share other people’s stuff? Aren’t we trying to get OUR stuff shared?
There’s a method to this madness. Relax!!!
Our goal in this section is to create a Tumblr page that oozes cool.
We want people to stumble onto our profile, and think wow, this guy shares some really cool stuff.
Take a look at these two profiles:
You can, of course, create the stuff originally.
But that takes time, and we all know how much I HATE wasting time. Or putting any significant effort in whatsoever. lol. I talked about in my last income report.
- So find cool stuff
- Share it!
Step 3: Follow Future Followers
This steps easy-peasy.
Find Tumblr users that interested in your topic, and follow them.
The idea here is that every time you follow someone, they get a Tumblr notification about it.
This means that many of these users will have a chance to see your profile.
This is where the profile building in step 2 comes in handy.
You want the first impression to be powerful. And let them know that you deserve a good follow-back.
Not all of them will decide to follow you back.
In fact, most won’t!!
That’s okay. Even if only 20% decide to follow back, that’s still 1,000 easy followers we can snag after we’ve followed 5,000 profiles.
Then, we can repeat the process over again with a new account.
What Can You Do with 1,000 Tumblr Followers?
The goal of 1,000 is realistic.
With 1,000 followers, you can get the ball rolling for YOUR content.
Now, you want to either have:
- product images that link to your blog
- viral images that link to your blog
The product images are easy. You can get these from Amazon.com, or anywhere that hosts the image you need.
The viral images are also easier, but take a bit more digging. You can find cool memes in Google images. Just be careful that you have the right to distribute them.
Post these images to your profile, and many of your 1,000 followers will reblog.
With the right content you can go viral.
The Power of Tumblr Blogging
Every time a Tumblr post is favourited or reblogged, it gets a “note” added to its post count.
See on the bottom right?
This post has 74 notes, but it was only published 2 hours ago.
It’s common for posts on Tumblr to get thousands of notes.
That means that your posts can LITERALLY get shared and noticed thousands of times.
That’s insane.
You would pay a lot of money to get those shares or views from a service provider.
And with a good-sized Tumblr account, you can get all this traction free of charge.
Best of all, it only takes a few minutes (if that) to add a new Tumblr post.
Talk about power in a click.
